MALVERN AUTUMN SHOW SET TO TANTALISE YOUR TASTE BUDS

The Malvern Autumn Show, in association with Westons Cider Visitor Centre, coincides with the start of the British Food Fortnight that runs from Saturday 23rd September – 8th October.

Selasi Gbormittah, Andi Oliver and Judith Hann are set to headline the Cookery Theatre at this year’s show on the 23rd and 24th September at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern.

Ghanaian Selasi took part in The Great British Bake Off in 2016, Andi, a judge on the Great British Menu can be heard as a regular panel member on BBC Radio 4’s The Kitchen Cabinet as well as running her own restaurant Andi’s and Judith has just published her new book Herbs: Delicious Recipes and Growing Tips to Transform Your Food.

Head of Shows for the Three Counties, Diana Walton said; “We are excited to be welcoming such a tantalising line-up to the Cookery Theatre this year. The Great British Bake Off 2016 introduced us to charming laid back Selasi who will be sharing his enthusiasm for baking on Sunday. Andi will be joining us on Saturday where she is planning to cook dishes that have appeared on her menu; Persian spiced rubbed slow roast shoulder of goat studded with medjool dates, mujadara (lentils & bulgur) and crispy onions, orange and ginger jerk chicken and waffles and a vegan dish of black bean and crispy tofu stuffed spring greens, avocado & cucumber ‘cream’, rum soaked golden sultanas and golden sultana purée. Finally, Judith Hann, who we remember presenting BBC TV’s Tomorrow’s World is sharing her new book on Saturday, all about her love affair with herbs as well as an indispensible guide on how to make the most of them everyday. Visitors to the Cookery Theatre over the weekend will be in for a gastronomic treat, we can’t wait!”

Keeping a watchful eye over the culinary adventures is the delightful Otter Farm’s Mark Diacono who hosts the Cookery Theatre throughout the weekend. Mark is a passionate food writer, photographer, and a specialist in growing unusual edibles on his own smallholding, Mark delights in concocting cocktails and deliciously simple dishes where flavours and fresh ingredients shine. As a critically acclaimed author of seven books Mark also won the André Simon Food Book of the Year Award in 2015 for A Year at Otter Farm.

The Malvern Autumn Show will also showcase the amazing wealth of local food and drink produced across the three counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire with producers and growers on hand to share their passion and fill hungry tummies. Thirsty visitors can enjoy a tipple while reclining on straw bales in the Westons Cider Garden, brought to the show by headline sponsor Westons Cider Visitor Centre.

The Raymond Blanc Cookery School makes a welcome return, demonstrating how to create phenominal cuisine with fresh produce harvested from Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons gardens in Oxfordshire.
